Reflective Statements

For my competence in Communication, I am submitting the link to the book I authored during my residency year, The Justice of Jesus, published by Brazos Press, which demonstrates my ability to communicate widely on complex theological matters to a broad audience. I am also submitting a screenshot of fundraising results (including new FP / monthly donor acquisition), which demonstrates the results of my Communication skills during this residency year.

As I developed and demonstrated Christian leadership, I learned that writing a book takes time, perseverance, and dedication. I also learned that I am capable of writing in a nuanced, long form way. Furthermore, I also realized what I would like to get my PhD in - the history of the St. Thomas Indian Church, the faith tradition of my ancestors who were introduced to Jesus by the apostle, Thomas.

As a result of the experiences documented by these artifacts, I will continue to develop in Communication by aiming to write more books in the years ahead - especially now that I have this experience under my belt. I also hope to grow as a fundraising leader in the years to come - including by serving on nonprofit boards and lending my expertise to smaller, justice-oriented nonprofits as a fundraising consultant.
